End of Martin’s 2.5 Years-Long EU Aid Deployment at SPI

Today is the last day of my 2.5 years-long deployment at Small Projects Istanbul. It has been a wonderful and challenging time, filled with meaningful connections, new perspectives, and personal and professional development.
During this time, I was responsible for various tasks, from project & volunteer management, through monitoring, reporting, and communication & fundraising. I am leaving with deep gratitude to SPI and knowing I did my best to support the organization, its development, and the community.
I will miss SPI and my colleagues who always worked with the highest dedication and integrity.
Thanks to Naz, SPI’s director, who accepted me to this project and gave me autonomy in my work. Thank you, Didem, for guiding me at SPI and in Turkey and being such an excellent tandem partner and coordinator. Thank you, Lucia (former EU Aid Volunteer), for becoming part of my family and being such strong support during my entire time in Turkey.
I also want to express my gratitude to the sending organizations ADICE, ADRA Slovakia, and MONDO. They implemented the HVA and SUDHAV3 projects which enabled me to spend time in Turkey. Thanks to SlovakAid for co-financing my deployment.
I wish all the best to SPI’s team and good luck in future projects.
