Building brighter futures for displaced people through opportunity and community
Give today to maximize our impact!
It takes $150,000 to run the 40+ programs at our Olive Tree Community Center for one year. We call on supporters like you to help us maximize our impact by contributing toward our Lift Up Annual Giving Campaign goal of raising $50,000 toward program funding.
Contribute a donation of $150 or more to receive a pair of Drop Earrings Not Bombs earrings or a screen-printed tote bag from Blooms of Tomorrow as a sign of our appreciation. If you do, please make sure you enter your correct billing address when you donate via PayPal, if you donate via other methods or if you have any questions with regard to this please send an email to email@example.com
In a city of 15 million, Small Projects Istanbul allows those displaced by war to find a place to belong, against the odds, as they rebuild their lives. The programs at our Olive Tree Community Center in the Fatih district of Istanbul invite community members to develop new skills and reach their full potential through our income generating craft collective, language and social integration initiatives. Navigating the complexities of life in Istanbul is a great challenge. Our growing team of enthusiastic volunteers and generous supporters have brought Small Projects Istanbul this far in carving out a sense of home for our growing community, but for us to continue to thrive in Istanbul, we need your help.
The reach of Olive Tree Community Center has increased to serve a community of over 300 people who regularly attend the programs at our center to take part in our livelihood, social support and integration programs. In order to keep up with the needs of our community and its sheer increase in size, our team of international volunteers has grown, too. While our team is not short on ingenuity, know-how, and dedication, there are some things that cannot be achieved without the funding needed to maintain a safe and well-equipped center to support the programs our community has come to rely on.
As humans we need a sense of belonging, to come home to ourselves, wherever we are.Karyn Thomas, Founder - Small Projects Istanbul
Reaching full operational capacity requires educational tools and resources, training materials and supplies, and eventually, modest stipends to show appreciation for our instructors and administrative team’s generous investment in SPI’s work.
We need you by our side as we fulfill our tremendous potential for growth! The most valuable contribution you can give us is the kind that is reliable. Consider signing up for recurring monthly donations. Donations like these let us know we can count on you, and give us the freedom to envision and plan for SPI’s collective future.
Thank you for your support,
The SPI Community
