This Tuesday, January 17th, two representatives from Small Projects Istanbul had the pleasure of attending the UNHCR Protection Working Group meeting.

This week’s PWG meeting marked the first step in developing a inter-agency refugee response coordination structure in Istanbul and the Marmara region to better leverage collective resources for the protection of women and children. The working group will convene with the purpose of identifying protection needs of Syrians and other populations in Turkey and to bolster the delivery of assistance and services through coordination of community-based protection and referral mechanisms. Small Projects Istanbul looks forward to participation in the PWG to build deeper connections with NGOs in the region, to learn through the sharing of successful service models, and to gradually fill service gaps through growing partnerships.
